question New or old ?????

O.K. forum members who wear leather A-2, G-1 jackets, which is your preference a new leather unit patch or an old/aged type ??????

I'm curious as I and a few others I know make them and I'd like opinions of what you think of patches on your jacket , is your jacket broke in/old/original or a new one ??????

I prefer the patches to look new, the same as I like my jackets. I like the jackets to look like they just fell out of the squadron artists room.

My preference is for new patches on a new A2 and aged ones on a well worn repro. I would not recommend a repro patch being sewn on an original A2.

Thanks for the replies so far ! I would never think of putting a repro patch on an"orignal" war era jacket , IT JUST ISN"T DONE !!!!!!

I was stating this for a new made jacket either new/unworn or one broken in.

Personally, I like either totally authentic or none at all. You can put on a patch, but not a copy of an old one! Sometimes, all-new patches look really neat on an old jacket though.
