Ok, if i have a size 61cm hat, and i fit a 62. Will one of those heated electric stretchers be able to do the job? Or would have to do something more serious.

Butters, you shouldn't need the heat for one size. Just a wooden stretcher and a little ( emphasize little) steam should do the trick.
G, the same goes for shrinking but requires a little more work because you need to dismantle the hat.

No, I dont own a machine (although i wish i did) A local shop here does, and stretches them for free. So I was just wondering if i should bother going there to get them stretched.

Free- then I'll take it!

If the shop is local, and does if for free, what is the issue: GO FOR IT!

Maybe they can confirm your true hat size and shape if you don't know..then it becomes easy ordering a hat from someone, or off of Ebay.

Were you referring to a machine something like this:

I have seen a few of them and they never do go for below $100 so it might be wise to use the free dude. LOL

Regards to all,
