Quality shoe brands in the UK?

Thanks for all the extra info and opinions, Shooman. I appreciate the reply.

At the moment I have been looking at the C&J Grasmere tan in their rubber-soled collection but I will have a look at the Church's and see if I can find an equivalent in a similar colour/leather. My main use of the shoe is outdoor casual on pavements. I will have a pair of Red Wing 9016 for Winter wear but I need a summer shoe.

Marks & Spencers

You may not believe it, but I've often found Marks n Sparks to be quite good. Their Italian leather range and the other top end ranges like Autograph are often a nice classic design (I only ever buy brogues or Oxfords) and last longer and better than their usual cheaper shoes. Although it definitely helps to get a set of Rhino soles from Timpsons and a pair of segs.
