I have to agree about Kelli. She won the first challenge & had been very strong up til her elimination. And wasnt her partner in the elimination dumped the next week?

It reminded me of Season 3 when Allison Kelly was a strong contender, then one week they beat her up & she was auffed.
Seemed to me she was a strong designer, but her quiet demeanor didnt go over well for the producers.

Come to think of it, In Season One, didnt Austin Scarlet win the first challenge in the supermarket, then dominate w/ a lot of good designs, then an off week w/ the postal uniform challenge & he was auffed.

Yes, Allison was another one that I was really disappointed when she went.
Austin was in the final 4, but he was out so that they could keep Wendy for the finale. In that case it was obvious the producers chose drama over talent, because Wendy did not deserve to be at Fashion Week. Austin was far more talented.
I was so happy to see him make an appearance this season. This may sound like a corny thing to say, but I think he is so delightful!

Does anyone happen to know what Kenley did for a living before the show? Was she freelance? I ask because as someone who works in the fashion industry her attitude would get her fired in a hot second. Its a tough world out there but this industry is ruthless and her mouth would have gotten her into some hot you know what. I honestly don't think her designs were as wonderful as she though they were and hopefully she can learn to do less talking and more listening when it comes to getting critiqued because if she can't handle the judges criticisms there is no way she could handle a head designer in industry.

Oh and P.S that hip hop outfit was ATROCIOUS! I haven't seen a high-waisted anything in a hip hop video in maybe 5 years? What happened to innovation? and if your going to make a pant the main thing that stands out in your garment at least construct it well. The zipper on that pant looked like a 7th grader did it. It was super distracting.

Kenley's Collection

I liked retro-throwback Kenley from the get go and in my opinion she should have won PR Season 5. What was so exceptional about Leanne's "wave"-theme? Kenley's outfits were not only well constructed, they were beautiful. She even hand-painted several of the outfits. The judges were extremely cuel to when they called her designs "knock-offs".

I bet some of you didn't know that five designers presented their collections in Bryant Park, but only the top 3 aired for the season finale. Nothing impressive here. http://fabsugar.com/1994566

I have to agree. Leanne's designs seemed like variations on the same theme over and over. Kenley's designs were all good and all different, but hung together as a cohesive "line". I think Kenley was robbed.

'PROJECT RUNWAY' DESIGNER PLEADS GUILTY TO DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A former contestant on Heidi Klum's TV designer challenge "Project Runway" has pleaded guilty to a count of disorderly conduct after allegedly beating her former boyfriend with a laptop computer and throwing her cat at him as he slept.

Kenley Collins was arrested on March 17 and charged with two counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.

The 26 year old was fined $120 and handed a 2-year protection order prohibiting her from contacting her ex, Zak Penley.

Collins' sentence was reduced because Penley never sought treatment for his injuries.

Aparrently, she did time for her cat toss.

I can't really argue with you, Fletch. But along the way, we get to see the work of some talented artists who do have an appreciation for classic, timeless style. The fact that they never win doesn't really matter; they get exposure, and - probably, I presume - opportunity comes from it.
For instance, the young lady I think SHOULD win right now had created an absolutely gorgeous, classically-inspired dress and coat.

Ack. No. I do not.

I will say that Project Runway at least requires its contestants to actually produce something tangible and (potentially) useful. Other reality shows produce nothing but drama.
