Hello, I believe i'm in need of some guidance here.
I'm pretty new to properly taking care of hats.

This Dobbs Newsboy cap I own got a small blot of paint on the brim which I attempted to clean up using a damp cloth.
I was able to get most of the paint off the spot, but now there's a faded paint stain, and to add to it, I believe it got a little soaked in water.
So now it has a water stain around the area.

I'd appreciate the help with this awful problem. I don't know what to do now.

I've used corn starch to remove water spots from light colored felts. A little goes a long way.
Gently rub in some corn starch, give it some time and brush the stain away.
Lots of brushing
repeat as necessary

What is under the fabric in the brim? Is it plastic, leather or a cardboard? Can you separate the crown from the brim? If you can separate the two and the brim core is water impervious then I suggest you separate the two sections and soak the brim in a warm water bath with a drop of Woolite detergent. It may even out the stain so it is less noticeable. However there is a large caveat.......you might end up making the stain worse/larger. Perhaps just turn it into your beater cap and buy another one for dress wear. There are a great many Dobbs caps on Ebay for $50 or less.
