Thanks for posting. It's kind of neat to see something like this, given how Aquascutum has more or less gone all Burberry, but the price is ridiculous!

P.S. Where do they get these models? The guy's supposedly 6'1" with a size 38 chest. I'm the same height but 42 chest and I'm skinny!

Skinny and androgenous is what's long been the thing for male fashion models, same as women. I believe the idea is that clothes hang "better" (i.e. easier) on a skinny, shapeless model....

Interesting to see Aquascutum jump on this; I thought Bogie wore a Burberry?? They've got the length bang on (Bogie's coat was taken up to that just-on-the-knee look to disguise that he was relatively short), though to tout a Rick replica at that price with as obvious a mistake as a storm flap only in one side? Yeesh.

I don't think it's definitively been established what B wore in Casablanca. I read the huge thread on it here and I'm still no wiser.

Makes me feel real good about my trench coat that I bought at a second-hand shop for 100 Euros.
Perfect fit and has all the necessary features.

You and me both, mine's a Burberry, bought 15 years ago, for just ten pounds. For me, the coat looks the part, fits well and is made from gabardine, with a heavy cotton lining. So if any of the details are not match perfect, at least I can boast that my trench has no polyester.
That's a lot of jack. $1,445.00.
For what it's worth. The UK, like most of Europe, charges a tax called Value Added Tax, it's currently 20%, which means that if you are purchasing from a foreign country, you pay slightly more than £700, because you are exempt from paying the tax.
You will need to check the exchange rate for your currency, but although the markets rise and fall, if you use a dollar fifty (US) as a rule of thumb, the price becomes $1050. It's not exactly ten pounds, and it's not even gabardine. Cold comfort.

I got a fantastic trench from Manchester Weathercoat, it's one of the factories where they used to make Burberry before they moved production out of the U.K. Needless to say, it's essentially a Burberry at about 1/3 of the cost. I even went into the Burberry store here in Sydney and they all thought it was a Burberry as well lol

Not sure if you saw this yet (saw it first on Facebook) but at long last you can now own a copy of Rick's trench coat, and for only $1,445.00 (LOL!)! Check this out:

These "finds" are always nice for those on the Lounge that have an interest for sure. However, that price tag...in my home, we will be letting Rick keep his trench coat, so our wallet does not commit mutiny..nor...murder!

I bought a special edition “Casablanca” trench from Ralphie several years back.
Material & workmanship is excellent.
I bought it on sale @ $119 & thought that was a lot.
Now I don’t feel so bad.

Out of curiosity, I did a search for "Trench Coat like Bogart's." If you are a 52 metric or 44 imperial, this one has an asking price of £80. It's a Burberry, all the details are on that link.

Aquascutum do make lovely stuff but that there's just a bloody have. Mind you it's the old marketing adage, plonk a famous, cult connection no matter how tenuous on something and add an extra zero on the end of the price tag.

1,500 bucks for a raincoat is nuts, but as they say, there's one born every minute. I'd rather have that one that GHT posted and use the rest for a week's holiday somewhere hot.

This coat isn't a match for the Casablanca version, as any even casual reader of The Fedora Lounge would realize at a glance. Still, the company is well respected and it's a nice coat, whatever it is.
