I'm not an afficionado of green hats, but I'd make an exception for that one! Wonderful.

I find it a hard color to coordinate - somehow it reminds me of Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest green. It does match up pretty well with this Lululemon zip jacket. I've seen a few unusual brilliant colors come from Silverwoods store in Los Angeles, which was the seller of this hat.

Prohibition era Stetson clear nutria. The crown imprint, among other details, is beautifully executed.

Stetson Excellent Quality black fedora with exposition medals. Made for Brill Brothers in New York. 5 1/2” open crown and 2 1/2” raw edge brim. The back ribbon is 2” wide and the bow has a frayed trailing edge. Curious that the label under the sweatband isn’t a standard Stetson offering. I can’t make out the lot number so feel free to help me out if you can.

The felt is flawless the sweatband is soft and supple…not even a popped thread.

I like this one so much, Brent, that I came over here to see more of it. Very cool. I wish it was your size!

That one is gorgeous!

I can't see the first digit of the lot # either, it is probably a lost cause. At least we know it is post 1915 and almost certainly pre-1930s. I would guess early 20s at the latest, but that is just my opinion.

What a gorgeous brim.

Thanks, fellas. I’d like to keep it, but I just can’t justify it with a hat that I can never wear.

Behind the sweat is a stamped Lot 155 (or 755?). I've found these numbers on the back of Stetson sweats on hats through about 1940. Numbering appears to increase chronologically, with the latest hats in the 7XXX's. This is the lowest number of any hat in my collection. More on sweatband lot numbers here.

Thank you, Alan. The more I look the more there is to like. It’s the chance of finding such a gem that keeps me looking.

Select Quality black homburg size 7 1/8 US. 5 1/2” open crown. No liner.

This was sold to me as a size 7 1/2. Unfortunately, I was also charged a size 7 1/2 price. Sadly it’s going back…unless someone here really wants it.
That's a great hat... sorry it's not in your size. The LOT 8027 is intriguing - not in sequence with other examples and doesn't appear to have the age that would suggest an earlier numbering sequence (as might have been the case for the hat posted by RLK in the early pages of the LOTXXXX thread). I haven't seen many outliers, but this seems to be one.

Too bad it is missing it's liner as well....probably would have been one of those awesome pleated jobs.....
