Did anyone else catch the 7 1/8 size sticker on the sweatband but the 7 1/4 reorder tag? Pretty interesting....

Good find Justin. I had my eye on that one but totally forgot about the auction. Glad you picked it up!
Glad you let it slip into my hands, Josh!! I noticed that too, and thought it was decently funny. We are all human after all! When it came i was surprised to see no issues at all. perfect

John B Stetson & Co. stiff felt derby. Green / brown in color.

This fella was the unfortunate victim of terrible shipping practices...

Maybe someone could set me straight on dating this. 1900s? I don't recall seeing examples of the tag before. Also the use of "John B Stetson & Co." is interesting.

:( That is just a shame. Such a cool old derby too. Is it savable?

Ouch! Looks savable if there aren't any rips. Looks very old. Im no expert but I'd guess 1890s or 1900s. Definitely has a wild west vibe.

Robert,

I was searching high and low for this post - I think I found a close match in this little bowler. Maybe you'll catch this reply?

Dan

Yes, I figured when I found the original post (Stetson Pre-40 vs Non-Stetson Pre-40!) he will at least get the alert.

For now his profile says he logged in January of this year. He's had some great hats and knowledge on the board, I've been reading a lot of his stuff over the years; maybe he'll make another appearance!

Thanks again,
Dan

Awesome hat!

Robert has been gone for a long time, and I dont forsee his return.
