The plus fours and knickerbockers those two kids are wearing and the suits and blazers being modeled by the other two children are completely different to me. The kids in the plus fours look a lot cuter to me, since they're dressed as children would have dressed eighty years ago, although the one in the jaunty bowler exudes a sort of pool-hall vibe. The Hickey kids, though, are dressed as little adults. I don't think I see anyone denying the pretentions to power that the suits connote; rather, I think it's whether or not people find these pretentions vile or not. Clearly, power and sexuality are viewed as two completely different things. I'd agree that sexuality can be more visually disturbing, but I still find that undercurrent of power to be a little disgusting. I don't think it's just the suits. I think it's the whole package: the way they're posed, that jaded look in the eyes, the ridiculous hairdos. There's just something about those kids that weirds me out.
