I rushed a few shots in the yard Saturday on a cell phone. Its my first Work of Art and its loverly!

Felt: Camel
Binding: 9 ligne Khaki
Ribbon: 16 ligne Brown with neat camel colored ring.
Based on the Sportaire with 5 3/4" Crown and 2 5/8" brim

Its a split between a 7 3/8 and 7 1/2. I'm so used to hats that are a bit large and then padded in the headband that it felt "strange" at first to wear a hat that actually fit like it was supposed to fit. My Hat's On to Art!

Soft as butter it is. Now to save up money for another!

I believe it was a state trooper hat, but not sure what state. I think I just need to tip the front down a little, just doesn't look quite right to me

I'm betting you could wear that hat while driving and cars would brake down to your speed and fall in line behind you. A sure bet if you drive a retired Ford police cruiser.

That's funny - last summer I happened to rent a white Dodge Charger for a road trip in the mountains north of Seattle and was wearing the hat below with the brim up and a dark green windbreaker most of the time. Wherever I drove, I caused a large number of people to spontaneously slow down to the speed limit. Also, when I walked through the campground where my brother and his family were staying, there was much furtive beer-hiding, until they realized I didn't work for the forest service.

As soon as it was apparent I had no badge, the overwhelming relief resulted in multiple freshly-dispensed offerings, very welcome in the heat, as I recall...

Stetson Eagle Vita-Felt 1942-ish

Actually a size 7(standard Stetson tags) with the usual conflicting measurements. Great color and frayed ribbon. Non-reeded with Medalist tip sticker.

Quite an interesting box of hats. Sold as 2-7-1/4, 1- 7-3/8. In reality all are 6-7/8 all with identical factory and Union Tags behind the Sweat, One with a normally visible hanging size tag as well. All 3 hats are identical in felt, design and sweatband and are each a different shade of blue. Despite being otherwise identical unlined lightweight felt each has a different sweat embossing and crown stamp. Portis, Rapp Co. and Gimbels and different Indiana Towns.[huh] The sweatbands are non-reeded with fine whip-stitching and the Union Tag is large with the black number 29. They were very dusty but may never have actually been used. Some signs of a crease but felt and sweats are in better shape than general condition shows. Super-lightweight felts and sweatbands. Very soft and flexible.
