What I thought would be this summer's Panama "beater" was delivered the other day but when I opened the box....inside instead, was a really nice Cuenca!

A sweet little Cuenca to be worn this summer with some really nice casual wear.

I suppose I now have to start looking for a "beater" all over again,....or as my wife would say; "I need to go shopping again."

This is one of PanamaBob's specials that he occasionally tosses in the 'bay.

Thank you Robert!

The photos look okay I suppose but I feel kind of ridiculous wearing this thing, like I'm on my way to a costume party or waiting to take my turn onstage between strippers a la Pinky Lee...[/QUOTE]

Salty,

You and Tooch look great in those hamburgers

I wore a grey one when the wife and I went to see Sherlock Homes and it went great with a black wool coat

I've got a buddy who is unabashedly wearing derbies with a wool winter coat and jeans

We've decided we are going to take a stand for these great hats and just keep wearing them until people get used to them.

You guys look great, so wear them and enjoy!:eusa_clap

I wear a homburg or a bowler every day to/from work. With a suit and a black overcoat it looks great (IMHO), *and* it keeps me warm!

I just had coffee with a pal of mine who wears a derby about every day throughout fall and winter and he's on board with Rolled Brim Day.

We are encouraging hat wearers everywhere to start wearing a derby or homburg on the first Friday of the month ... first time will be on Feb. 5.

If you can't wear one to work, put it on to go to the store, out for pizza, to the movies, whatever.

We want to bring these great hats back into use.

Hope everyone joins in.

thanks, Sam

I wear my Bowlers and Derbys on a regular base, be it casual or official. Wonder, when others will start to do the same, over here :)

What I can say is, a Bowler definately attracts more attention than an Aston Martin or Ferrari .. etc. lol

well, sam craig..

i would have to say that wearing a homburg indicates that one is way too important to be worrying about insignificant things like carbon footprints.

New member- Saying hello

Ladies and Gents,

I have been a fedora fan from way back. I just found this delightful forum and I am happy to be a new member. I presently just have a few, mostly ill-fitting, inherited fedoras. I tend to prefer stingy brims, and often wear them with the front turned up especially when I'm in playful/casual mode. Looking forward to picking up much more knowledge from the members here and maybe make some friends. Without further adieu... my fedoras:

Not sure if this is a Strat clone, Open Road clone, or what, but it came in today and I'm very pleased with it:

The felt is very soft and easy to work with - I put that diamond bash in without steaming. The only problem is some minor discoloration on the front brim where it meets the crown. All in all I'm very pleased - which is good, because I'm out of hat money!
