No brand, don't know the age, so nothing special. So why did i buy it? I don't know, i liked the model i think. Payed 9 euro including shipping.
Beautiful green!Dermotta Wien, 58 cm, possibly mid 1950s. The paper label is washed out so no model or quality information. Dermotta Wien are less common especially Snap Brim Soft Felts so happy to make this find. The Green Felt has a very nice finish and fine hand. Great form with a lighter green mid width Band and Brim Binding.

It's always enjoyable to find a hat that has a personal connection, Jeff.New to me Royal Stetson. It still needs a bit more cleaning and shaping. This one is significant to me, however, not for the way it looks, but from the store it originally was sold in. Jack Krawcheck in Charleston, SC was open from 1922-1995. It was the men's store in my hometown when I was growing up, serving Charleston's finest gentlemen. I did not know the original Mr. Krawcheck, but I had met his son who ran the business after him. His granddaughter, Sallie, went on to become the CFO of Citigroup and the CFO of both Citi and Bank of America. Very pleased to have found this one. Not sure they were still selling hats at that point, but locally legendary, nonetheless.Such interesting ties to your younger years. Wish I had visited the store during my first visit to Charleston in June, 1987. Great find!

Pics didn't make it.Two new hats from last week:
Stetson Sovereign Twenty/ brown with Mode Edge. It is ready (both hats) for cleaning and brushing. Each of these contain a sweat band in marvelous condition.
Stetson black 3X Selv-Edge.
Picked up this basically unworn 'Beaver 20' by Greeley Hat Works. This and the Stetson 'Three Way' box were $109 + tax at a couple of antique stores I visited in Colorado. The hat was made for Steven Wells.
The photos were here ... and now they aren't. Not a problem I've run into before - they were IMGUR files.![]()

I don't normally buy hat boxes, but I also have an original 'three way' print ad, and for $21 I figured I could store one of my Stetsons in it.Heck, the box alone might go for that much.
