Picked up a batch of hats from a seller in Italy, who laid hands on some leftover inventory it seems. I bought six of them.

Qualità speciale in a green colour called Dresda. Talpa (longhair) finish. Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Barbisio is definitely the maker, even though the name doesn't appear anywhere on the hat. I was actually sent two of these. I guess seller got a bit mixed up.

Maybe you can spot a difference, but I can't. But just to be complete, here's the other one.

Barbisio fedora in a green colour (again!) this time called Bogotá. Size 57 with a stingy overwelt brim at 4,5cm and the crown a bit more generous at 11cm at the center dent. Also a talpa finish.

Barbisio Luxus in a grey colour called Egeo. Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 4,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Also a talpa finish. Even though these are NOS, they do show some scars here and there.

Qualità speciale in the green Dresda colour (I worry about myself ). Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. This one and the next one have the nices felt of the bunch. Thin and sturdy, but not stiff, felt with a lovely hand. A lot like nutria felt. Lightweight too, weighing only 96 grams. I think this one is a keeper.

And the final one of this bunch (one more after that).
Qualità speciale in the a grey colour called mendrisio. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Thin and sturdy, but not stiff, felt with a lovely hand, just like the previous one. A lot like nutria felt. And just as lightweight weighing only 98 grams. This one is a keeper for sure.

Recently remarked to Steve @mayserwegener that peschel hats are tough to find. Must have meant something to the universe because this one showed up almost instantly. Sold to me as black, but turned out to be very blue.
Peschel fedora in blue therefore. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 5cm and the substantial crown at 11,5cm at the center dent. Quality is called Lido and the hat has a great hand and is lightweight at only 95 grams. Liner is missing unfortunately but judging by the lettering on the sweatband and the style I'd say this is an early one. Strong, cuppy flange in the back on this one.

Just picked up this Mallory western. I'm going to use it for my next western-to-fedora conversion. I've been looking for something in this smokey-brown color, and it already has a nice crown height and crease.
On a side note - does anyone want to trade a dead rooster for some vintage grosgrain ribbon?.....

W. & G. Schuchard "J. Harris & Co. Strand 32 London", 58 cm, possibly later 1950s. W. & G. Schuchard were a Wholesaler, Distributor out of Giessen, Lahn, Germany. Matt was very kind to send this hat to me as exchange for a smaller hat that I had mistakenly purchased from a seller that wouldn't ship outside of Germany. The black Felt is really fantastic and easily dry creases. Also has great form and top quality construction. Using an English theme was common in this time period.
