Cool find, Daniele. Larger brimmed hats are not that common over here as you know.I went in blindly taking a gamble.
The label indicated that it was the oldest Morreton I had ever encountered in my life as a hat hunter

The shape was that of a hat from the beginning of the last century

The saleswoman was aware of its value and so I pressed the button hoping for good luck, also a little deluded by the measurements given to me...

Morreton made in France, I think a hundred years ago, maybe more.
The size, unfortunately, is 56 centimeters and its state of conservation is perfect. I add that I was afraid it was a woman's hat but it is not.

In my opinion it is a hat for young men also because I have seen some worn in France at the beginning of the last century.

Chapeu Francais Morreton - Marque Deposée, there are no other indications except the size 56 centimeters

The measurements of this beauty are: raw brims at 9.5 centimeters, ribbon at 5 centimeters and the lowest point of the crown is at 13 centimeters.

The felt is thick and very solid.
Notice to sailors in the sea of hats, if for someone this hat is a siren with a mischievous charm, write to me.
Seeing it and not being able to wear it is torture. It can arrive in new homes.
In the search for something rarely seen in Italian hat making, a Barbisio unexpectedly arrives

Probably assembled by the Cervo hat factory at the end of the production of Barbisio hats, it uses a fantastic felt for quality, lightness and color.

It is a typical mid-season hat, light, unlined and with a spring sky color.
The characteristics are as follows: Barbisio unlined in light felt with a ribbon of the same material and a zigzag sewn brim, the sweatband is in fabric

Size 61 centimeters or 7 in the French scale, true size.

For all those who love light and unusual hats.
Thanks a lot. It is ancient and particular. What I can ask if not my size?Wonderful find.
Stefan agree with you completely and a Morreton so old is an eventCool find, Daniele. Larger brimmed hats are not that common over here as you know.
Barbisio made some wonderful hats even when they are almost deadThat is an excellent sample, Danielle, and a unique color as well.

EDIT: I don't know what caused that black blob in the middle, but something to do with the phone camera and the black hat.

JACKPOT!!! Amazing find. Congratulations Don!
Can anyone help me date this Bradford Ltd western fedora? My wife bought a large number of vintage women's hats at a yard sale and this was among them. It's too large for me to wear, and besides, I'm just not a cowboy. My son-in-law actually is, so I'm going to give it to him for Christmas. I did some research on Bradford Ltd. but I wasn't able to date it. I had it cleaned a reshaped, probably a mistake from a collectors point of view, but my son-in-law isn't a collector so if it fits reasonably well he'll probably use it. Any help you could give in dating it would be appreciated.
Before and after cleaning and reshaping
