These postings need a bit of an introduction. A large box arrived on my doorstep last week. It contained a kind and extremely generous gift from the north of Italy. Daniele @Daniele Tanto is cleaning up some of his vast collection and found some in my size. Under the ruse of the hats needing work he sent them my way. All most of them needed was the usual steaming, brushing and stretching, but I'm not complaining! So here they are (except for one, which still is on the stretcher).

Cambiaghi heather fedora in brown. Size 56 with the raw edge brim at 6cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Weighs 113 grams. The unreeded sweatband and the style of crown patch tell us this is a very early one. Perfect for autumn.

That is one classy hom-bowler, Stefan.

For the final one (for now) I've saved a special one.
Panizza Zeffiro in black. Actually a homburg but because of the rather flat topped crown it resembles a cambridge bowler in style close enough for me to keep it open crown. Size 55 (so needed some stretching) with the bound brim at 6cm and the open crown at 13cm. One of the finest Panizzas I've seen and in pristine condition. Weighs 130 grams.

A few small considerations on these hats happily donated to Stefan.
He has been and perhaps will be again, depending on our mutual addictions, my biggest hat exchanger in the FL universe.
The contacts between Veneto and the Netherlands have been fruitful and full of satisfaction for both of us. We also shared a particular interest in hats made in Italy, their history and their becoming major players in the world of hat making.
I immediately thought of him when I was sorting out the hats to sell, but I also included, deliberately, hats of his size in some deals because they will go along with other magnificent ones from his immense collection.
It is always a pleasure to put some pearls in someone else's treasure chest when you have received some for your own.
I still have hats to give away, but they are for even smaller sizes.
Get in touch without problems, you will only pay the shipping costs :)
