Rockel in a natural color long hair finish. This one also has no label. The lining and sweatband are not in the best condition, but the felt is. This is an imported hat for Belgium (Gent).

Failsworth in grey.
Does someone knows the age of it?
The spots on the hat is steam which has to dry, because it was in a not so good shape.

That is a really nice Failsworth you found there, Marcel.

They're not as easily available on the market as most of the other Manchester area hatmakers.

At a push, from the shape, style and hat liner logo, I would say 50s to early 60s.

Thanks Steve. Correct....you don't find them a lot. I was thinking 60's myself too..... It's a cool hat for sure!

A 1953 Presentation hat, made either by Dobbs or Knox. I can about make a case for each. 2 3/4 inch bound brim and 5 1/2 inch open crown. The hat was sold by Neiman Marcus. The sweatband has no stamp or printing to identify the hat. The Presentation note is the only thing on the sweatband. The felt is the type for Western style hats, and is indistinguishable from that on a 60's Knox Westlite Twenty of mine. It's nice felt, thin and has some slight stiffness to it. I think this is a Twenty quality hat.

PS- I thought that since this was a Presentation hat and from the high-end store Neiman Marcus, that there might be a chance this was a high-end hat, maybe a Forty quality or better. But I have a 50's Western Dobbs Forty and the Presentation hat doesn't approach the quality of my Dobbs Forty.
