Latest arrival among Central European hats made with velour felt.
Velour 3.jpg

It is a Huckel 1799 "Durit" made for the French market.
Velour Huckel interno.jpg
In recent times I have had various velour hats in my hands and this is an example of lightness compared to others that have arrived in my collection.
Velour Huckel 1.jpg
The felt is dense and the pile is of medium length. It is malleable and takes shape without steam.
Velour 7.jpg
The storage conditions are excellent, without any defects. The "old" one has been preserved very well
Velour Huckel etichetta carta.jpg
The size is a "rarity" because it is difficult to find a 5 3/4 which is a narrow 59 centimeters
Velour 6.jpg
The measurements of the Huckel 1799 - Durit are as follows: the raw brims are 6 centimeters, the ribbon always matching the felt is 5.5 centimeters high, and the open crown is 15 centimeters.

I hope to continue finding hats of this quality... they make me happy.

More Mallory action - this one a near perfect “10”. Almost as lovely as Bo Derrick jogging down a beach.

5.5 inch crown (but looks bigger), 2-5/8 inch brim.

Very clean inside:

I love the stitched brim (not sure what this style is called).

And finally the bash after some steam trying to get the most out of this fantastic block.

He will need some head time to stretch a bit, but the fit is not bad at all for a 6-7/8.

It came with a Mallory box, too, but the lid requires repair.
That is gorgeous, Nathan. Nice catch. Don't think Bo Derek would react just as well to some steam!

The Jean Bourrel is already a cool find, especially an early one like that, but this Hückel takes the gold. That is a great find any day of the week and an exceptional beauty.

Just picked up this Adams hat which I believe to be 1950's. Could someone please verify what year it would be and also, is the longer felt such as this, unusual for these? Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. Nice fuzzy Adam - don't see too many of those. As you are fairly new to the Lounge and hat collecting, may I suggest you spend some time in some of the threads available to get you up to speed. Adam Alley would be a good place to start for this hat. There is a wealth of information on this forum for those who will put in the effort.

Pretty soon, you'll be confidently giving advice yourself!

Man that is something special. Interesting. “Genuine Vicorona”

I wonder if they were intimating “vicuña“

Borsalino Cecosca in color Noce Light Weight. The hat was not in a great condition, so i needed some steam. First pic is before. The dark spots on the other pics is steam/water which has not dried yet! Lovely sharkgills too :) Unfortunally the yellow protection is broken. I think according to the label it's '50's?

Nice find, Marcel. Indeed fifties judging by the label. Is it possible to get a complete pic of it (for archival purposes)?

Montechristi Semi Calado panama hat from Montecuadorhats. Size 58 with the brim at 8,5cm and the crown at 10cm. I think this is in fact a women's hat, but I wanted it anyway to see if my assessment of the weave was right. It was; this is a finely woven hat. Quite floppy too.
Looking at the website of this company they seem to have finely woven hats on offer for good prices. The sweatband is fabric and the blocking is round rather than oval, which is consistent for a women's hat. If I wanted to convert it to a men's hat it would need some work. PM me if you want this one to convert it.
