That's an old Disney! I have one yet to to be posted that has that same manufacturing label. Perhaps I missed it but I checked the Disney Diner twice when researching my hat and couldn't find another label like that one, so ours could be a predecessor. Seeing your hat I'm now convinced that my hat is the from the 1930s as well. These are some of the oldest Disney hats on the forum.

If that Champ liner isn't sewn in I'd seriously consider removing it. That hat's way too nice for it.

A midnight blue homburg that picked up a Champ liner at some point.

Bellissimo!. Too small for my head. A pleasure for others...

The second hat of the two hat deal and the one I really went for.
Sools by Mossant or Mossant for Sools (take your pick). Fedora in blue (Bleu Oxfort according to the label - the French didn't bother to check the spelling of Oxford obviously). I have another Mossant in this colour which is very attractive. Size 56 with the bound brim at 6cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Superb felt with a great hand. Not exactly lightweight at 115 grams, but certainly not a heavy felt either.

Champ Bowler - Brown
Approx 4 3/4 crown
About 1 3/4 brim to curl
1 1/8 brown grosgrain ribbon

When I got a heads up about this brown Champ Bowler from lounge friend and enabler @Randall Renshaw … I had thought I might have gotten my HAS under control. I thought wow that’s a super Buy It Now deal on a cool probably 1960s brown bowler… but I have two other brown bowlers that don’t get worn enough.. at 6 7/8 it’s on the smaller side of what I can wear and being a stiff felt not really any margin for error. So I thought I would pass on this one and went about my day doing some yard work for a couple hours. Only to return to find it still there… and wouldn’t you know that HAS kicked in and the BIN was pressed.

Now that it arrived I couldn’t be happier with it. What I had thought was a 60s hat from the seller pics… looks in person to be more 1950s. There is no HCA label inside and the size sticker inside is more in line with pre 1956 HCA takeover Champ labels… so I’m leaning to mid 1950s. Love the look and shape… and it fits like a dream. It made the trip out last night to the pub for karaoke. Thanks Randall!

Great catch there. These brown bowlers don't exactly grow on trees.

Nice one, Joe. That bowler really suits you! Brown bowlers are not that common, so hang onto it for a while.

Please add that one to the Bowler thread, Joe, so we can keep the records straight.
