While looking for a plastic box at the $2 shop I was also lucky to find a bunch round boxes. Of course i'll be using these Christmas boxes to store my hats. Very handy indeed.

some Hat boxes in the `shoo room'

Received my pith helmet last night too, and what a beauty it is. I am going to dunk it in water and wear it properly; it is vintage so it should be up to the job. Looks good on me too.

Don't like hanging hats on hooks, don't want dust on them. Want to keep them protected. I know you blokes have more hats than i've had hot dinners and probably don't have room, but I do like hat boxes.

Brüder Böhm, Daniel Zikeli Wien "Rekord", 58cm possibly later 1950s. Based on the paper label I believe this Homburg was made by Brüder Böhm and sourced by Daniel Zikeli Wien.

I found Daniel Zikeli in the "Austrian Hat Industry Guide (1926)" as Daniel Zikely Wwe. (Widow) so he had passed away. The location "X. Laxenburgerstr. 30" is the same as the what is printed on the Liner and stamped on the Sweatband.

William Brook & Co made by Brummel's. I don't know much about this grey Brummel's except that is sold by Jan Worm in Gorinchem the netherlands. I think Jan Worm was closed about 1974-1976. The hat belongs to a gentlemen born in 1900 and passed away in 1974 according to the seller. It was her grandfather Wout de Kuiper, see initials on the sweatband. The felt has a fantastic feeling and it's in a mint condition.
