I have heard the refurb speculation before. If it was, it was a heck of a job as there’s no evidence of it. There is some writing on the hat body I’ve not seen before that I recall. Perhaps a special order?

I do too. That’s why I enjoy your Gus hat so much.

Beaver Brand 100% pure beaver in size 7 ⅛ or 57cm. The open crown is 6 ½ inches and the raw edge brim is 3 ½” wide.

NOS never worn 7XCB OR mid 50s, but another like the mid 50s 7XCB OR having a plastic liner tip that I got a month ago that also has soft, hand moldable felt.
This one has an oil skin liner tip, but has the maple leaf in the sweat logo and the tell tell white, long reorder label. Was expecting to see red and orange labels.
Oh well. Larger proportions. Hand creased cattlemen’s crown. Leaving as is, except I have snapped down the brim. No steam.
Super hat box! I haven’t seen one just like it. I had one that was close, same color and style, but smaller with leather strap instead of this cool fabric strap.

It’s not common to see a Stetson Royal in the western line. The liner is also not one of the more common variants. The as creased crown height is 4 ¾” at the front dip and the raw edge brim is 3 ¼” wide. Size is 7 ¼ or 58cm.
