Nice!
Nice! Those unexpected ones are the best finds.

Just arrived: I have no idea what I have here except that it’s a vintage Stetson with a box. There’s a blue/green stain at the back on the seam between the brim and crown. It is very snug on my head so I’m wearing it around anyway in hopes it’ll loosen up a bit. My wife will love it if it doesn’t.

Thank you and I will put a little vinegar on there immediately.Nice!
The green stain is verdigris. It’s from the copper ferrule from where the ends of the reed are connected. It can go through the felt and stain the outside and it can even eat a hole in the felt if not addressed. Try some white vinegar and reapply every now and then.
Thanks JeffThat one's a beaut, Gary!
Post that Karmann Ghia somewhere!
Sharp looking hat. Looks good on you. A bit of Whippet styling there. Judging by the paper tag might be later 50s early 60s. Maybe a post Whippet “whippet” ?Just arrived: I have no idea what I have here except that it’s a vintage Stetson with a box. Stetson 3X Beaver Quality
Thanks Bob!Sweet! I think that factory sticker changed from what you have to the white sticker around 1953.
I like the crease you went with!

Stetson 3X Beaver Quality
Approx 4 7/8 crown as shaped
3/8 Tri-Cord Ribbon
3 inch brim with bound edge
Embroidered Last Drop liner with oil skin tip protector
I did not notice in the seller’s photos, but turns out this Stetson 3X Beaver Was creased with its pinch to the rear. Being that the crease was fairly sharp and seemed to be there for some time… I decided to go with it… but add my own front pinch to create my take on a 4 corners pinch…. Maybe a reverse 4 corner. The color I’d say is slightly darker than most of my Silverbelly hats. But it really does shift depending on light. From a tan.. to off white yellowish… to almost bone. I believe early to mid 50s on this one with the embroidered last drop liner oil skin tip and reorder tag.
Thanks go out to @BobHufford for the heads up on this one.

Thanks Stefan and all the FL companions for their kindness.Beautiful hat, Daniele. Pity about the mothing.
Thank you! Yes I have been looking at a lot of pictures and thought it may be somewhere 50's ish. I also agree it has some Whippet going on there. I really do like the brim width of 2 1/8 to 2 1/4. It's got a nice balance between crown and brim that I think would look good on anybody. My wife loves it and may take possession.Sharp looking hat. Looks good on you. A bit of Whippet styling there. Thanks Brent!Looks great, Joe. I prefer this style over the Open Road. It’s a great hat in great condition.
If you ever need to, use a piece of dowel rod cut to length & held inside the crown to form around. 1/4” or maybe 3/8” dia.Interesting crease along the center of the crown. I’d be “hard pressed” to replicate it.

If it peaks in the center use a piece of surgical tubing instead of the dowel rod. Thanks Jack. I have an optimo crease block, but this seems to be more of a gradual transition to the peak.
