I just got a beautiful new Wolfbrae custom fedora from @belfastboy in pecan -- a greenish brown/tan. I'd asked Robert for an open crown Whippet with 2 1/2" brim and a narrower binding and he nailed it. The rabbit felt I chose is heavier and stiffer than I expected -- more like an Open Road -- but will make a great winter hat. The price was incredible for a custom hat -- my first -- and I would highly recommend. Thank you, Robert!

Thank you. I really like what you did with the diamond creasing.

Fantastic! When you can, will you please add it to the Wolfbrae thread?

Another mystery hat ... of sorts. No idea on size or if any markings other than the one shown. Too bad about that frayed ribbon (that they pointed out in the description).

It was $13 so I feel lucky...

Whelp … it don’t fit (but we all knew that it wouldn’t). Bummer as it’s some pretty nice felt!

Beautiful J. A. Seidl Melone/bowler made of wool felt without size tag
- I estimate it to be from the 30s, but I have little experience.
The condition is very good except for a few minor quirks!
However, it has little to contribute to the discussion about labels
and manufacture that Steve hasn't already said.
As a wool felt, it comes from a different source than the fur felts
and the only label it has is one of the simple paper labels known
from many pre-war hats with a number on it.
Same linner-logo as in my other J. A. Seidl (fur felt) bowler.

Also discovered by and reserved for Panos:
A. Berteil - St. Germain black fedora with original hat box
with the open crown at 13 cm and the raw edge brim at 5 cm.
The fur felt is relatively thick but as Daniele said some time ago:
very soft in touch "and with a peachy surface".
The hat box is interesting because apparently another big name
of the French hat industry was once stored in it as well.

"Echter Borsalino" Homburg for the German market in "Argento"
Something that has never happened to me before with my size 59:
Hat was listed as 58/59 cm and it doesn't fit because it is way too big!
Size 7 Punti (!) with the crown at the dent at 11 cm, bound brim at 5 cm
This huge beauty is in great condition except for minor discolouration
on the lining and it is also stamp-dated: 17. Juli 1941
That fits perfectly the shop where it was sold - Max Eckard, Berlin -
which did not survive WWII (as Steve once noted).
