Great look to the hat. I will give a warning. If you live in a dry climate it can wreak havoc on snake skin. In Alberta I have seen more than one pair of snake skin boots flake and get ruined by drying out. But it is a great looking hat and really suits you.

I will keep your caveat in mind and have some rub that should help with the snakeskin. I have been getting multiple inquiries and compliments while wearing it. The Woomera is giving me other ideas to pursue. A great problem to have!

Other than the condition issues that hat is about perfect. So much to like. I hope that it cleans up.

After Waiting nearly a month for this G.B. Borsalino FU Lazzaro & C to get packed up I nearly said FU to the whole thing. However... I am glad I did not... it was worth the wait. I knew this would not likely be an original early fu Lazzaro figuring it was a 50s-ish “revival rival”... it appears from the tag it’s more mid 60s to mid 70s. However none of that matters. After cleaning this super dirty hat up... it really shines. The felt is super soft... not quite a velour.. but not a standard finish either... and it really has a nice shape to it. The Mogano felt and Moka ribbon make a nice color combo. The ribbon still has its basting stitches.. I believe that’s what it is anyway. The two inch brim has what appears to be a sort shallow felted edge.... if not there was either previously some brim stitching or something creating a line near the trim. As with other US market Borsalino.. the wind trolley is a sort of elastic material that can make it hard to find a sweet spot for storage... but definitely not a deal breaker there. I think this will make great grab and go kinda hat for me.

Two wonderful finds, Daniele. Is it possible to find a manufacturing label in the Fléchet? I've always had some doubt about the age of the NOS velour hats RLK purchased years ago (I have one) and never noticed the award years imprinted on the crown liner, which is the same as yours.

this is the manifacture label I found under the sweatband

The lining is the same with the same lettering and indicates that the Flechets were made after 1931, this is indubitable.
As hats become products at the beginning of the last century, it becomes increasingly difficult to date them for the simple reason that, especially in Europe, the factories were handcrafted and very little standardized in notifying construction data.
