I dig that hat, Daniele and have never seen a bow done this way.
Thanks, both the two "Classic" I have, the same "big" size, have this not so common bow
If you like one of both I can let them came back to USA :)

Fox Hats - Custom Made Western

View attachment 322613

Fox Hats - St Paul, MN (likely Langenberg/Beaver Brands)
Bright Bone Felt
5 inch crown as shaped
3 7/8 brim front 3 3/4 sides with 1/8 grosgrain binding
1/4 two ply grosgrain ribbon

Woah Nelly! This is one big hat! Custom Made Western from Fox Hats in St Paul, Minnesota... probably made by Langenberg/Beaver Brands. A super sharp crease in this one. Not sure the age... my guess late 60s early 70s. It is a firm stiff full on Western. Real nice shape over all.. just a few tan spots under the brim.. other than that real clean. A bit out of my comfort zone in styling and size.. but one cool hat for sure.

Dynafelt - Espresso

Dynafelt - Water Repellent
Espresso - Dark almost black felt
5 inch crown as shaped
1 5/8 reddish brown grosgrain ribbon
2 inch overwelt brim

This Dynafelt was the travel mate of the chocolate brown Mallory from this weekend. Dynafelt is marketed as “The Water Repellent Fur Blend” And the last one I had gotten wet the water beaded up nicely. This one is a very dark brown almost black espresso color. With a reddish brown ribbon. The liner is pretty neato. This one’s tag shows it’s content breakdown of 85% wool, 10% Fur and 5% other fibers. Which explains its fairly rough texture. Could make a good rain hat if I don’t move it on.

My latest hat acquisition is thanks to Boomerang posting too good a deal on it and no one else snapping it up. I showed restraint for a few days but, it was still there. It is a black Fed IV. My first real black hat. I received it in record time earlier and have been too busy to post this week. I keep wondering what it might look like with a charcoal thin ribbon or a navy one. I do have a vintage rust colored thin ribbon which might be interesting on it.

Great addition. Nice thing about a black hat is you can accent it with just about any color ribbon and it will look good.

I’m not sure what model this 5X Stetson is. It was sold through Miller Hats, and I’ll keep digging.

The bound brim is just under 5” wide and the crown is just under 6 1/2” tall at that back...that’s the “as creased” measurement and I suspect it’s close to 7” open! This is a large hat. 1 3/4” wide crown ribbon dresses it up a bit. I think I’ll lower the crease a bit when I get around to it.

Wide as the plains, I'd say.
