Part two:
Thanks, maybe someone else knows the age of it. But nevertheless it's a great hat.Since it's made in England I'm not going to take a stab at age, but I really like that colorful liner tip.
Thanks Steve. So i can call myself a prime minister nowAgain, nice catch Marcel.
The Manchester hat maker Failsworth had/have the Stetson licence.
I have, among others, a Stetson Sovereign of theirs with a similar label.
I'd place yours mid to late 50s, possibly early 60s. This style of Homburg was made popular by various Conservative Prime Ministers after WWII.
Thanks Steve. So i can call myself a prime minister now
But seriously.....50's/60's is cool. That was what i thought either but i am not the expert around here. ..
So glad seeing this one worn after around 1.5 year sitting in the box and God knows how many before that, forgotten in a storage room/cellar...What better way to cheer oneself up at the start of a long working week than to wear a top hat while making dinner
This, the fifth hat from the @PanosChris Oslo haul. A little more to come in the Toppers Unite thread.

I am wondering now which prime minister had the initials L. H. which is printed in the sweatband
Roermond it is
Those metal stamps are very German. You don't see them in English hats.
I know yours was sold in Roerdam in Holland btw.

Sorry. I made a bad mistake of multi tasking
A “bad mistake” would be getting sauce on your hat. I have a long string of bosses who can attest that multitasking is not one of my strengths.
Thanks, Joe. I had not expected these to be made the same way a topper is made. How cool. I have a Jacob Reed’s Sons as well. But MUCH more modern
Thanks, Panos. I wasn't expecting a lot, as I have quite a few brown homburg hats, but this one is a very nice addition.Excellent catches Stefan! This color combo is a must have for a homburg
Very nice find, Marcel. I don't think it was intended as a real homburg though, even if it has a brim curl. Failsworth did these Stetsons very well. Their homburgs were usually Imperial quality with very tight brim curls. But I really like the style of the one you found; the brim seems a bit wider. Slighty less formal than a homburg; nice!Bought today this black Royal quality Stetson. Don't know a lot about it, but maybe the 50's or am i totally wrong? Help is welcome I think it's in a great condition. View attachment 320066 View attachment 320067 View attachment 320068 View attachment 320069
