Just arrived, this Peters Bros 7X Seventy-five Shady Oak Mr. President L.B.J. Has to be a rare model. I measure 3-1/2 RE with 3-cord ribbon x 5-3/4 Open. Listed as a 7-1/2 but tag clearly shows 7-1/4. No date code. Came creased in an old Rancher style. I just put a tight dry crease back in it with big dents after brushing but dents didn't stay without steam. Will make a very nice hat. Researching for more info.

A great hat start indeed to 2021, Steve. You seem to know how to look in all the right places. Cudos! Like all your finds, that one is a beauty!

Echter Borsilino "Qualità Superiore", French Point 5 1/2, possibly late 1930s early 1940s. Unfortunately the Borsalino Paper Label is missing but the separate Size Stamp is present. The Felt Finish is similar to Velour Soleil so shows a high amount of gloss and is very pliable so easily dry creases. There is a mix of colors (you can see better in the Open Crown photos) that from a distance looks Stone Gray like. The Form and Dimensions fit the time period and place. This is a great start to 2021.

This hat is a product of a Milan hatter still active in tailoring hats, it is still in the place where this hat was made. http://www.cappelleriacabella.it/
Cabella 1.JPG

Cabella - Milano size 58cm, with a real opening of 20x16.2cm which makes it an almost perfect size, slightly narrow.
Cabella 2.JPG

It is very interesting the felt with long nap fur with which it was made, super malleable and a burnt brown color of great effect.
Cabella 4.JPG

I have already seen a similar felt on some hats of the Guerra 1855 hat factory.
Cabella 5.JPG

It's not an old hat I think it was made in the seventies. The hat is in excellent conditions
Cabella interno.JPG

Here is also the paper label that shows the size, color and model in an Italian that is indecipherable to me. It could be "Lontra" the quality of felt and "Qalifor" the model.
Cabella etichetta carta.jpg

These are the measurements of this beauty: raw brim at 6.5 cm and the ribbon is 3 cm, the crown at its lowest point is 10.5 cm. It is the first hat I have found on the market made by Cabella in many years.
Cabella 7.JPG

It is not my size, so if anyone is interested...

Again: wonderful find and fantastic hat, Steve. One of the nicest Borsalinos we've seen lately.

That is very unusual and certainly interesting. Lontra is very rare, so one would expect they made more mention of it. The longhair finish and the colour work really well. It will get you noticed though.

Got my first bowler...Stetson Excellent Quality. Not sure how old it is but the store mentioned on the lining (Nebraska Clothing Co) has been closed since the 70s. I think this hat is much older than that. It even has its own felt "brush" to clean the hat. I don't know much about these so if anybody has any information it would be appreciated...
