Finds over the past few weeks!
1. Watson Hat pure beaver, found on the bay for 1/4 price paid by original owner in 2019. I have the original receipt. Retailed for >$1100...yikes.
2. Wormser blue royal luxury, beaver blend, staining inside crown liner is nearly an identical pattern to one posted here in 2008! I emailed the original poster to see if it was recently for sale at a local (PHX) antique shop.
A nice few weeks!

I’ve never seen a plantation without the pinches. To me this looks more like a “Golf of Panama” without the fretwork.

That's a staggering parade of awesome hats, Max. But this last Fraenkel is really something special: what a colour on that hat!
Please post the Borsalino Misto in the Borsalino Brotherhood as well, with it's label if possible.

I always get a bit excited if I find a new Borsalino model. Steve @Steve1857 didn't bid because he thought it wouldn't fit him (he was right), so I could land this one cheap. The seller's pictures had it looking in a bit of a state (that helps).
Borsalino lobbia Eglesti in black. Size 57 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. It is a bit lower than the far more common Gulaela model lobbia.
Imported by Petitgas of Copenhagen, which is more or less on Steve's doorstep.

My initials were already in it: it was meant to be it seems.

Hückel Durit.1930s. It came without a ribbon. It improved a lot after cleaning the felt and the sweatband (saddle soap and Pecard) and adding a silk ribbon. Pics of the sweatband after cleaning are in the next post.

Hufvud Indiana Jones Beaver. I like his designs, and the felt on this one is good, FEPSA, I think, but it isn't as finely pounced as an Optimo, for example, and it therefore doesn't have as good a hand, and it isn't as obedient. View attachment 276841

I am guessing that is a limitation with small hatters in general, because they don't have the machinery that Optimo has.
