Wow! That came out amazing! Thanks uncle Randy! You need my address??After its arrival today and a cleaning and steaming, here’s the late 50s/early 60s Mallory all fixed up and ready to go home with my lucky nephew.
Wish it fit me, but it’s a 1/2 so he’s coming to pick it up tomorrow morning. It’s such a great hat with the proportions, look and feel of an early forties felt body. I’ve never seen an Open Road clone with a Cavanagh edge, or as called on a Mallory, Duplex Edge.

You are going to have to send me your rejects, Panos, you are picking up quite the nice collection!
Another great hat, Panos!
Thanks gents !!Very nice! I love the bow too. I agree that it has a real 1930s vibe.
Great catch, Tim. These Knox hats always look so darn good.Bought this Knox Twenty from @Ethan Douglas. Been looking for a wide brim one and needed a classic light grey with black band, so this was perfect. Great condition and very nice proportions with a Cavanagh Edge. I’m thinking 50’s since it still has the crown height on the tag. Notice the detail on the wind trolley button, never seen that before. Experimented with the brim shape a little.

The style's very nice, similar to a Campdraft. Are you in the city? If it's worth it, you could stop by JJ's and see what they could do. Looks good on you.View attachment 215403 View attachment 215404 View attachment 215405
I found this Fedora in an antique shop, it was in the shape of a pork pie hat and very crumpled. It a wool fedora but no logo was on the sweatband.
I tried reshaping it at the shop, it was a bit tight on me and figured I could stretch it and steam it.
the sweatband crumbled to dust and tore so I took it out and there was no liner. For $35 bucks I thought it was worth it.
here are some before and after progress photos.

Finally pulled the trigger on Moonstone Fed IV. My first attempt at shaping but I think it’s pretty close.
