From my recent auction extravaganza haul, this Boegel's two-tone Milan:

More pictures and details now in the Milan Mania thread. Bonus coverage in the Vintage Hat Store thread.

Too big for me at 7-1/2, so this will also be posted in the Classifieds for trade/sale. Don't get bageled on this Boegel's!

Did you pick these all up in one lot Jonathan? All 7 1/2'/s? I'm not even going to ask if there are any 1/4's. ;)

There was a trunk full of hats, but the auctioneer took them out and placed them randomly on a table before the auction began. People (including myself) poked around and shuffled them about as people are wont to do at an auction. When they finally came around to the hats they'd been mixed up several times over. I figured they'd either auction off the entire haul as one lot or as choice of hat. Instead it was choice of stack, so I bought all the stacks. This also included a couple original cardboard hat boxes, some after market clear plastic hat boxes, a couple caps, some ties, I think suspenders and a belt too.

Everything was 7-3/8 or larger, with the vast majority >= 7-1/2. I think the largest was a 7-3/4 LO, but even that one must have been too big for the previous owner because there was paper towel folded up behind the sweat.

Borsalino BSHW 1 R.jpg
Borsalino Qualità Extra Extra Superiore size is 6 1/2 or 7 1/2 US very true size
Borsalino BSHW 4 R.jpg
This Borsalino arrived with two others of a size larger than mine, one is now at Charlie's house, another remained unsold and this was the worst in conditions, but of my size. He needed a reconstruction, so he left for the West of the United States where it was exemplarily restored at the BSHW
Borsalino BSHW etichetta carta R.jpg
Borsalino probably from the 40' sold in Italy from the seller information, "Dattero" is the color of the felt and I'm unable to decipher the type
Borsalino BSHW interno R.jpg
The proportions of this beauty are: brim at 7 cm. and crown at 10.5 cm.
Borsalino BSHW 5 R.jpg
The hat had a new ribbon and a new sweatband to be worn again, but it didn't look good on me, so it was reblocked recently and that's the result

This one arrived today. Far too small, but I knew it would be. I bought it because of its historic interest.

Hard to date, but probably inter war years somewhere between the 1920s and the late 1930s.

Silk top hat, missing its ribbon, and no silk binding on the brim.

Originally sold at the still existant Petitgas hat shop in midtown Copenhagen. Founded in 1857, the same year as Borsalino.

The coat of arms suggest it was made in the City of London, but that might be what the maker wants you to think.

Nice touch were the original coat of arms helmet from a knight's suit of armour has been changed to a top hat.

It came with a non original brush and strange looking polishing key ring pad.

I see these a lot. The Greg Norman golf hat my coworker gave me is very similar, although your hat is in excellent condition and mine has cracks, etc., on the front of the crown. They are great sun hats that funnel the air flow right across your head.
