Post New Hats Here!

[bowlerman]

I’m with you, Bob I liked that one too! A hat like that one won’t stay there that long.

Well, I’m back in the area en route to home... I’ve been thinking a lot about it! How much debt do I want to accrue this week? Hmmmm
*Edit: they are closed Sundays, too bad!

In my opinion, no hat is worth debt. I commend you on your self restraint

I haven't posted any new hats here, but not due to the lack of trying. But I just got back from vacation and realized I'd picked up a hat then!

Just a couple of quick and dirty pics of my newly unboxed Texas Hatters Hi Roller in dark blue. I did not expect this to fit, but it does! There is no hat band as it was just some chicken pluckings strung together.

Pretty slick, Bob. I like that gambler look! Waiting to see what kind of band you’re going to slap on that bad boy.

Thank you. Yes, I did. It was special in that it marked the 50th state I've visited! It gives new meaning to the saying, "It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!"

I’m still planning my first trip there. I came close on a fishing trip up the inside passage but we never left Canada. Someday.

That looks really good Bob, and you wear that style well! So what now? Beaded band, conchos ? Looking forward to seeing more of it.

Thanks fellas! History almost dictates a serpent hide. I'll keep my eyes out for a Copperhead that has recently died of natural causes...

Actually I'm not sure. Something will speak to me I have no doubt.

Hard not to like any hat that Ronnie wore!

Picked up two Stetson Twenty Fives this past week. This is one of them. I also wore it in to work today. Not sure of the date of this hat, but it has the solid black keyhole size tag. The previous owner said it had not been worn, just kept in the box. It needed a bit of vigorous brushing and just a bit of sanding, and I reshaped it using a spray bottle of bottled water. I think it came out pretty well. The liner had a stain that the wife couldn't quite get out, but is barely noticeable.

Mayser "Stella Steif Federlicht / Stiff Feather Light" made for Huthase / Hat Hare, 58cm, 155 grams, possible 1930s. I was lucky because I noticed there was a lot of padding behind the sweatband. Also figured it was made by a high quality company which also turned out to be correct. This is a really fantastic Fur Felt (Haar.filz) Stiff Felt made by Mayser Ulm. I really like the dimension and form. The sweatband leather is especially nice and the fit is perfect. Huthase had stores in Dresden, Chemnitz, and Leipzig.

That looks like a grand prize winner, sir. Very nice!

While I was out on my exercise ride this morning I stopped at my favorite thrift and got a couple of hats. First a cheapo straw

Seems a bit unusual to find a thin ribbon with a 2 1/4" brim.
