Nice collection of 100's, Max. Sadly all short brimmed. If not, I would covet all of them.
And another Nutria with 3.5" brim... where in in world are the 4" brim ones...
I found a 4-inch brimmed Bailey One Hundred, Joao (first and second pics). It is on its way to Texas right now, so I will have to wait 'til my next visit to retrieve it.

All the rest of the pics are of the haul I just got back from Texas.
I had to leave the two I liked the least (Goodwill finds), but I was able to pack 40 into my three carry-ons.

We were supposed to be allowed only two, but the flight attendants were Mexican, the flight was nearly empty, and I can be pretty persuasive in Spanish.

I was also able to pack the three leather cases into the rest of my luggage, which was fortunate because the resulting lack of space restricted the ammount of stuff Ana could buy in McAllen's stores. [emoji5]

Many of the older ones will need Ignacio to replace sweatbands, deep-clean, reblock, eliminate wrinkles in both the felt and the ribbon, conform, etc.

Fortunately, only one of the five 100s will need cleaning. Daniel told me the Resistol he sent me was dirty when I asked him to sell it to me. All the rest are as new.

One pleasant surprise was that a Cavanagh Fifty I bought from Miamibruno that was marked as a 7 5/8 turned out to fit like a loose 7 3/8, so I will easily be able to pad it with some felt strips after Ignacio fixes the sweatband that came unstitched from the reed. I already sent him a picture and he replied it's no big deal.
If it had turned out that the sweatband needed to be replaced my plan was to give it to my son or send it to an equally large-headed friend of mine who says that, upon retirement, he will leave California as fast as he can. [emoji5]

Did someone say something about a Cavanagh Fifty in 7 5/8?

S. J. Frankel Wien "Sirius 1/2 Et.", 57cm, date stamped 01/06/1959. The felt is a dark navy blue with a smooth finish. The overall workmanship is fantastic and I really like the form plus mid ribbon width. Also fits fine even though 57cm and in excellent condition. The color should look better in natural light.

I really didn't expect to like this hat sooo much. Wow! Magnificent, soft felt. Yes, I'm gushing.

I had seen it on Etsy for several months, but didn't really pay attention to it, because I dislike the "Gay Prince" style brim stitching and felt ribbons.

Brent, aka @deadlyhandsome sent me a PM about its rarity, so I took a closer look. I figured Brent would know more about rare hats than I did, and I was correct. I hadn't even noticed it is a John Cavanagh, Inc..

Here is some info copied from the CityVintageClothes listing, owned by Roberto and Jula Isola.
To my mind, they tend to offer the best hats on Etsy. Although they certainly aren't shy with their asking prices, I think for once this hat was worth more than what I paid for it, IMHO.
Most of the pictures are from their listing.

"Overview

Vintage item from the 1930s

Material: Beaver

John Cavanagh Inc Stitched edge
fedora with matching band
Incredible suede finish! Historical Hat Maker sold in San Francisco at Bullock & Jones a Men's Premier Store.
Leather reads:
W.H.S.
Cavanagh
Hunt Club
San Francisco
Bullock & Jones Co.

Inside label reads
John Cavanagh Inc.
Size 7 3/8

Hat crown measures
5 1/2 inches tall and brim is 2 1/2"

Do those more knowledgeable than I on the history of hats (most everyone here, I know) concur that it is a 1930's hat?
The sticker in the inside of the crown reads "Cavanagh Park Avenue w 47th Street New York"
