New fall arrival. One of Stetson’s latest models, Bogie in Phantom Grey, Excellent quality. 2 &1/2”brim with approximately a 4 & 1/2” crown. Pretty supple to the touch and reasonably well made. Overall pretty satisfied with this one. Will have to work it into the rotation.

Thank you!

I like it DD! I am partial to the peluche finish. The crease is perfect. Just your style! You will be ready for the cold weather for sure.

A real beauty! I love the proportions of that one!

WOW! I love that one, Daniele. Just a beautiful hat and still has the basting stitches at the top of the ribbon for when the hats were stacked.

Really a special hat Daniele! Love the details on that gorgeous sweat. A French mystery!

Killer hat in all the right places except you'd think it would have a liner that would top it to perfection!
Just me of course Great find!

Nice!

Thanks you all for your kind words and for the likes!
The brother will be show soon.

[Bamaboots]

Now bash that baby! Coloration just superb!

Working on it.

That is superb BB!

Thanks, HJ.

Man! Another beauty! And it was only a three hour drive from me. Great score, glad to see you get it. You, Hurricane, and Bob Hufford, have really been raising the bar!

We had to do something to keep you in sight.

Good get, Greg! Looks brand new.

Thank you, Jim. I believe it is NOS. Just slight evidence of once having a center crease but no evidence of wear.

Beauty of a hat Greg! Maybe someday I'll find one that fits both my head and my budget. Congrats!

This one's been on a wish list for some time, Bob. I've had to let a number of wish list hats go lately but the timing was a little better on this one. Bargains on these hats are more rare than the hats themselves. It came along when the war chest had a little more in it than it usually does and SHE was in DC for work.

Bama: about as nice as a hat can be!!
I’m glad you compared, especially the “with eyes closed” comment.
I have a “hand me a hat in the dark theory” and open your eyes surprised!
I assume you will grace the CB thread with this *****in cool hat?? Ya
B

Thanks, Bowen. I will get it in the thread.

Beautiful, Greg!

Thanks, Doug.

Nice, Greg. Your going to have fun with that one.

Thanks, D. I already am.

Black Akubra Federation. I was expecting it to be a Fed IV but my last IV was marked as such on the sweatband. The sweat just says “Federation.” This hat also doesn’t seem as boxy as my IV.

Black Puerto Fino Tuscany:

I was surprised to find it had a 3 1/8” brim. The felt is just average, but not bad; nicer than your average Akubra...damned with faint praise? It came with a factory pressed-in crease, but went to open crown without much fuss and with a moderate amount of steam.

I’m not a big fan of black fedoras; they have to be a perfect hat or very cheap. This was the latter.

As you can see, it has a deeply flanged raw edge brim. The liner is simple, but sewn in. The sweat is thin and comfortable, but does not inspire a belief in its longevity. Certainly a step up from current Stetson Royal hats...and I’m back to damning it with faint praise.

A. Breiter München Der Hutmacher Am Dom, 59 1/2 cm, possibly mid 1950s. Not sure if A. Breiter München made this one but it looks like they might have modified it based on the hand written tag. Very interesting bow design and brim treatment. I not sure I have seen either before. I really like this one.

That one's great, Steve. Sorry I don't comment on your hats more often. Most days, you leave me speechless. The hints of blue in that hat are sublime.

Ribbon and brim binding....one of a kind!

Wow, Steve, a real gorgeous lid... and in the perfect size, too!

Thanks for sharing Steve! That's got to be one of your euro-made fave lid!
Having a shade of Grey across the board sure completes the coverage of the Grey's ******!

I really like that one as well Steve! The ribbon is simple, but what a cool look! The underbound brim (it there a correct term for that?) just adds to that. How loose is that 59-1/2 cm?

That’s my exact size, Bob! I agree the brim and ribbon are unique. Steve always has the neat stuff.

You guys have got me playing with my hats again. Another pre fall arrival. The Vintage Silhouettes box arrived on Monday. Always a treat to get a special delivery form Art Fawcett, a delightful gentleman.

2&3/8” brim 5&1/2” crown. Color Camel kind of on the yellow tone side. I’ve got the perfect camel coat to match.

Great felt. Quite pleased with this one. Can’t wait to step out in this bad boy.

Beautiful D! Art's bow work always blows me away. I can just imagine the coat you have to match. Can't wait to see it out and about.
