I was visiting my son in Chicago last weekend and could not resist stopping by my favorite hat shop.
(It’s a bad addiction). Anyway, I was able to fulfill an esoteric, but necessary need for some formal occasions, a Top Hat.

My Bone Lord's Hat has been finished for a week or so. Last week was taken up with the research paper (an A+!) So today was my first opportunity to trek the 40 miles to the south. This new hat is going to be challenging to keep pristine, the bone felt is quite light colored. Now to find a perfect toned suit coat to show it off. It will go well with blues as well. The ribbon treatment is a "Boxcar" style in a dark blue.

Wow, an Optimo Top Hat! Well played, Sir. You look great in it! Look forward to seeing more when you are also wearing a tux or equivalent for a night out!

Home run! Triple stitched brim treatment as well. Most excellent, Red! I LOVE the boxcar ribbon, too. That's really something.

Pretty snappy, Red. Love the shark gills.

Fantastic looking hat, Mike. I guess you took some inspiration from the Cavanagh you sent to Matt. Wonderful how you managed to smuggle these little details, like the brim stitching, in and still keep it clean and classic looking. A triumph!

I wish I looked as good in a Homburg as you do. Great look.

Thanks, Scott! I was worried he was going to get himself beat up!

Actually, I hope you don't take us TOO literally, Fred, @OldStrummer!!

Ha! As if.

Nah, I've long considered myself to be one of those "parallel parked in a diagnonal universe" type of people.

Most days you'll see me in jeans, running shoes, some collarless shirt and a nice fedora. Is it a style? Yes. It's my style.
