Great save!I got this OPS Stetson Stratoliner as a 'try to save it' project. Unfortunately the sweat was broken toast.

I replaced the sweatband after giving the hat a generous naptha bath, with repeated rinsing and filtering. The amount of dirt removed was prodigious for sure.
View attachment 94730 It came with a crushed in cattlemen's crease and now has been reshaped.

Now it's definitely in wearable condition.
Very interesting and rare find by Daniele. I like it's story. That braided band is kind of cool. This one is from the third Italian hat-exchange. It was on the stretcher for a while, so I haven't posted it before. Alexandria or Alessandria hat in grey (lavagna on the label) with a braided felt ribbon. Double stitched raw edge brim at 6cm and crown 10 cm at the pinch. Size 56 or 55 (no size markings in the hat). This one is quickly becoming a favourite because it holds its own in the wind and rain easily. Daniele, who found this one, thinks it might well be a brand made by borsalino.

Mike, thanks. It's what drew me to this hat: the ribbon treatment is so different.Very interesting and rare find by Daniele. I like it's story. That braided band is kind of cool.

Great looking BGCD! Its hard to beat Akubra bluegrass green. It's so versatile. Great crease too.Akubra Campdraft in Bluegrass Green. It's a nice hat. I gambled and ordered a 59cm since the last three hats I ordered in 60cm we're a little big. I'd say it fits perfect with just enough room for small shrinkage.

Thanks, Rogera. I agree on the BGCD. I am working on my creases lately, and I find that I am not scared to just push and squeeze on the folds until you think "that's it, that's what I want."Great looking BGCD! Its hard to beat Akubra bluegrass green. It's so versatile. Great crease too.

Thanks, DH. I find that this 59 fits perfect. By measurement, I should be a 60, o that is what I always ordered. I am really enjoying this hat.You wear the BGGCD well. I don't know why I haven't ordered that color. As for sizing, I always have to order Akubras a size larger than other hats (maybe it's my head shape?).
There'a alot to like!Another find of last friday. Bristol hat in light brown, size 56, bound brim at 6.5cm and crown 10,5 cm at the pinch. German manufacturer judging by the label but no clue which one. Love the shape of this one. More in the German and Austrian Hutmacher thread.

Just received photos of the D'aquino I ordered. 1-2 weeks shipping from Portugal.
Hard to tell by the photos how closed she came to meeting my measurements, but so far so good.
