Thanks Red. And thanks for posting the ad. I wonder if they were named for known landmarks at all of those universities? They seem relatively expensive for a schoolboys hat in the late 1930s. I didn't get a photo of it, but I got a look at the manufactures tag and according to the Dobbs dating guide here it came into use in or near 1950 and he shows an example of a Hanover Square with the same sweat embossment that dates to the 1940s.Another great find Michael. It is interesting that Dobbs had a "place name" thing going with their models.

Thanks steur. Fortunately the moths stayed above the crease line and on the bottom of the brim. A pity in any case.Beautiful hat, Michael. Goes well with the outfit too. Pity about the mothing, but in the pictures it's not that obvious.
