Yes, and I let the homburg decide for me. Sometimes they call out to be pinched and others I leave as they seem perfect as they are.....my form of hat whispering.View attachment 91249 View attachment 91250
Homburg crazy, I now realize you can pinch a homburg which now elevated that style to the top for me. I recently purchased 3 Homburgs: 1. Borsalino brown 60s i guess 2. Stetson Royal Deluxe 40's i guess and on the way

Michael.....that is JUST LIKE the Twenty I just picked up, same color and everything..........Does yours have the wind trolley too??? Mine does but you can JUST see it under the ribbon, and interestingly the button was tucked UNDER the bow. I have decided to leave it that way.....along with the bash as found. Mine is as soft as a "baby's ****" as they say.....will be posting pictures under the Stetson Twenty, Sovereign Stetson thread....Picked up this one at the local vintage store today.

From sometime in the 50s I'm guessing, but listening to all other ideas.

Can't see a paper tag. 2 1/2" or so brim, 5 1/2" or so open crown.

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Would be great if you could scan or photograph the booklet and post it up here. Not exactly a new hat (though I DO have a few I really need to post.....Do we even have a Hat Ephemera sub-forum????) but this "Hat Sales manual.....1944....should make interesting reading.

Cool. Sadly mine is missing a wind trolley, which I sort of assumed came with it. Soft as baby's **** is a good description of the felt. It also seems much more substantial then the felt on a Royal Deluxe from the same era. And as it happens, I'm wearing it again today.Michael.....that is JUST LIKE the Twenty I just picked up, same color and everything..........Does yours have the wind trolley too??? I just received my Herbert Johnson Trafalgar. I wasn't expecting much. It arrived packaged in a box half the size of the hat; not a good sign.
Then I touched it. Wow! The felt is buttery smooth and so pliable I was afraid it wouldn't maintain its shape under its own weight. After some recent disappointments with vintage hat purchases I was do for a nice surprise. I'll add some steam to set the shape, but there is no need to get it reblocked as I was thinking.

I haven't heard many good reviews of recent Herbert Johnson hats, but I'd buy several if they were all like this one.

Wow, all fantastic Homburgs. I agree that some like a pinch, and some do not. I usually take the pinch out when going more "formal"View attachment 91253 View attachment 91254 View attachment 91255 View attachment 91256 View attachment 91257 View attachment 91258 Homburg crazy, I now realize you can pinch a homburg which now elevated that style to the top for me.
