Heather and fuzzy: what more could you ask for? Better condition maybe, but that's a great looking hat.took a chance on this Dobbs Country Comfort ... one because I never heard of it before ... and two because it reminded me of my Railbird
Got it for next to nothing
Not in perfect condition... but it's a sweet fuzzy little 50s number ... I dig it
It will be a great autumn/winter piece

Thank you!Everything the others have said and then some: fabulous!
Champ Featherweight I scored at a local antique shop for $20. Another 10 got me the original box. Box says Featherweight in Charcoal Gray. This must have been a higher model featherweight as it's dressier than my tan one which has the same box, sweat, name etc. Pics are after soaked it in naphtha and brushed. This is the best it would cleanup.

It's possible neither has the exact box the hat was intended for. Although the tan one is clearly labeled size 7 Champ Featherweight, the box I got it in from an estate sale is labeled a 7 1/8 Polara in Black. The grey one is simply labeled 7 1/8 Champ but the box states 7 1/4 Featherweight in "Char Grey". Both brim widths are 2 1/4"
Thanks for letting me share my 2 Champ hats.

I'm a bit late with my comments, but these are two fantastic looking borsalino's. You did well there, Christophe.

This showed up today... a gift from Doug @FedOregon to my daughter for absolutely no other reason than that the man has a beautifully kind heart.
Doug she was so excited while opening it...
She (and my wife) loves the hat ... and the personalized hand written note to her was just a wonderful touch
You are a good man my friend
The fact that this is the 3rd time folks here on the lounge have sent my children gifts out of the kindness of their hearts (you know who you are) speaks volumes about the company I keep around here
Thank you Doug

Any hat that looks like it should only be worn at a horse track or pool hall is okay by me.... yeah I really like it ... it has a very sporty hunting or fishing vibe ... maybe a day at the horse track type hat like the Railbird ... I dig it
"Railbird" sounds cool & makes me think it belongs in Jazz clubs in the 60's.
the name comes from the college age kids who would sit on the rails of the race track in the 50s ... they were tagged Railbirds
It's a great hat

Johnny Jessen was my woodwinds instructor in highschool, and he grew up playing the clubs and cruise ships. I always new when I was playing well when Johhny started dancing! Kenny Gorelick ,aka Kenny G, had the same instructor and was about 2 or 3 years ahead of me... the only other thing we shared in common was curly hair, LOL. He looked like Disco Stu (from The Simpsons) back in the 70's.the name comes from the college age kids who would sit on the rails of the race track in the 50s ... they were tagged Railbirds
