Post New Hats Here!

[splintercellsz]

absolutely ridiculous hat ... and I hate you in the most brotherly kind of way

amazing hat Michael ... and that is the old Marathon crest... I am not a Marathon expert but I would guess pre 50s... or at least very early 50s

@buler knows quite a bit about Marathon hats and helped date mine to the 30s ... hopefully he will chime in

I hate you too [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Thanks for the info Anthony. It's in really nice condtion for that age. Seems like it might have been stored open crown with the brim snapped up. I'm happy with it to say the least. Extremely happy.

Thanks,
Michael

1920s Rothschild
This beauty came from a fellow lounger, and I have to say thank you again. I love this one

Damn Justin, when will it stop! I'm reeling from all of your great new hats. This Rothschild is a real stunner. That ribbon is da bomb! Great texture to the sweat. You are my hero!

+1 lots of hate to go around Bob, we are such a hateful bunch.

As usual, any clues to age or where it fit on the quality hierarchy are much appreciated.

Lot to love about this new lid Michael. That color and finish are a dream. I agree with Moon on the early 50s (maybe 40s) dating. I seem to remember reading a post a long while back with some info. This is going to be one of my favorite hats of yours my friend, wear it in good health, and often.

Never. I have an addiction, my friend.. and the only cure is more hats... at least I admitted it (?)

30s(?) Borsalino
Sadly, turned out to be a tad too small for me but it is beautiful nonetheless

Justin, I would say later 1930s early 1940s. I have some Echter Borsalinos with the same sweatband material and also the separate size stamp. Side Note: It's my opinion (also others like RLK/Robert) these Simeon Zlateff hats are WWII era.

Superfine Knox. This was after a naphtha soak which didn't do much to remove pitting.

4th and final hat from the estate sale Sat. "Panevent". Originally had no ribbon so I threw this black one on temporarily. Huge 5" crown and 2 3/4" brim remind me of this Stetson Flagship Straw ad. I plan on adding the same wide green ribbon. Also original receipts of the other Knoxes:

Thanks Red. I'll have to see if I can find that thread. i'm pretty sure it will be a favorite of mine for me too.

Thanks,
Michael

All three are sweet finds. This guy had a "brand", seemed to be loyal.

I'm 99% certain the Campdraft in Bluegrass Green is exclusive to Everything Australian; I don't think it's available in the Deluxe/Heritage Quality felt.

Hats by the hundred sell it but there is a long wait. http://www.hatsbythe100.com.au/akubra-campdraft-hat-bluegrass-green-made-to-order.html
