Wow I would not even know that Stetson was making all these different models of hats! Looks great!

DAY-um!!! Really Great Greg!!

Sweet, Greg!

Ooooo ... nice! Congrats Greg!

awesome snag brother ... hell of a piece right there

Thanks, fellas. This is one of the rougher old hats that I've bought but as they say, it spoke to me. It cleaned up well an I did some minor mothing repair and it's good to go. One of the softest, most dense felts I've handled and at 3.9 oz, one of the lightest dress felts in my collection. I know their out there but I've not seen too many 3X hats outside of the OR's.

Awesome, Dlaniger! I like the color. Nice work with the crease.

H.B. "Prima Weser Hut", 59cm, 172 grams, probably 1920s (hard to date could be earlier or later). Believe it or not this Wool Stiff Felt has a mirror inset into the liner logo! The liner logo has the initials H.B. and the paper label has the initials H.B.B. so could be Heinrich Balke Bremen who was a hat whole seller. Weser is a river that flows into Bremen so this makes sense. "Weser Hut" is trademarked so will see if I can find anything.

Mirror inset into Liner Logo!

Close up of the Logo with Mirror.

Steve! That is beautiful.
What a great liner. Very nice. Never seen anything like it before.
Another gem unearthed!

That mirror is unique.

Harv, RJR, Thanks! Never seen this feature before. Promo pocket mirrors for men were common (see below) in Germany so this must be related. In this case they decided to make it part of the hat.

Agreed. That is very cool and unique.

Such a unique and rare find with that old melone. And its a innovation that makes so much sense i'm surprised it didnt become more of a trend.

Finally found a short crown bowler in my size. Love the tortoise shell shape.

Fantastic finds! The short crown Stetson Stiff Felt is really great!

My new Derby, to be posted later today, has this same Stetson sweat logo. I could not find a good dating era on it searching the Lounge. Is it 1930s?

+1

OCMH, that low crowned bowler is sweet as cake!

I would love to see a head shot.
