Post New Hats Here!

[rclark]

That is a very cool cap.......I have a collection of vintage baseball hats and this one looks remarkably like my 1956 Milwaukee Braves cap, my favourite team. What is the name of the teams mascot?

I've got a few vintage baseball caps too, but need to check out the Milwaukee Braves cap like this. My son's high school baseball team is the Midway Panthers.

Pass on to your son my congratulations from a lifelong player and coach. Enjoy it, good times and not and always respect the game.

How about my new Akubra Kiandra?

I thought it might be TOO cowboy for me, but I like it and it will have a place in my rotation. Nice quality.

Got this new Herringbone newsboy in Khaki/brown...

Wegener "Rex", 58cm made for Hut Brömme Nürnberg 75th Anniversary (1953). There isn't a company mark but the paper label is from Wegener. I really like this one.

Any help dating (age) this hat and the Modelslr would be appreciated.

[moontheloon]

great hat Bama

it looks like Model might be the retailer judging from the price tag... if that is indeed what it says on the price tag ... kinda blurry ... but it looks like it

and based on the sweat, size tag, tip crest, and sticker under the sweat I would guess mid to late 50s

someone like carouselvic could probably narrow it down quite a bit more

I have a similar 25 ... fantastic hat

[Bamaboots]

Thanks moon. The letters on the price tag are The Model YOJa and the price.

[alanfgag]

I agree with Moon's dating or perhaps a bit later. Perhaps from the Model Shop in Odessa, TX. Not an Open Road but a very nice hat indeed.

Thanks, Alan.

Interesting crease.

Interesting crease.

Yeah, that's the way it showed up. I didn't take any time to work on it before taking the photos and the original box was pretty much dust and it was shipped sitting upright in the box instead of the crown down in the protector. Trust me, this hat is soft and pliable enough to take any shape I decide to put in it.

I think it may have been stored this way for some time as it appears virtually unworn.

Mmmmmh, to all!

C&K Knapp-Felt derby that arrived today. First Knapp-Felt for me.

Ideas on age? The gentleman who sold it to me said 1930s.

Glad someone here got it. It is mid- to late-1930s. I'm the one that dated it for the seller before it hit eBay.

Sure did Daniele! These are mostly vintage, but for me Italian hats are still no.1.

1 Panizza, 10 Borsalinos and 1 no name. I've posted a couple and will get round to the others as pics and time allows.
