Post New Hats Here!

Philosophizing comes easy after a coaching loss this afternoon, Eric -

Thanks Eric. And sorry about the loss. One thing I've learned over the years, coaches and losses don't go well together.

That thing does roll up nice. I'll have to try that with my new one.

Javadave, that is one HECK of a nice $8 noggin cover you've got there! I can see why it gives you the Johnny Depp feeling. Looks great! Thanks for sharing!

Good looking,Dave.

Thanks fellas. I appreciate the kind words.

And @moehawk, I rolled it once to see how it handles, but it sucked the life out of the brim. I could feel the protest coming from her the second I unrolled her. So she stays out in the open from this day forward.

J. Heinr. JTA Wien, size 59cm, date stamped September 29, 1939. Very high overall quality with a very light + soft sweatband and silk liner. Old J. Heinr. JTA / ITA are rare finds.

New bowler from May Brothers.

[moehawk]

Wow, that is a great find.
Yours too, Denton.

[mayserwegener]

Thanks!

Old Panama. I am not sure how old. The size tag could indicate a date in the 1910s or earlier. The style isn't incredibly distinctive -- short optimo crown, deeply flanged brim.

It's very dirty, and (despite my plea for careful handling) the seller stuffed it into a shoebox, but the straw seems to be in good condition.

Here's the size tag.

The sweatband might indicate a more precise date, but I have not been able to find other examples of the Strawbridge and Clothier logo from the early twentieth century.

This previously loved *** Club just arrived. Had to clean off a spot. Otherwise in good shape. Not sure what model it is. My size but a bit large. Hopefully it will shrink a bit the next time it rains.

Wow, if that hat could talk just think of the stories it could tell; places it's been & owners it's had!

Just picked up these....... A Dobbs Strand and a Churchill !

Where's FRUNO???

[Miamibruno]

Mayser, I thought this hat was right up you alley...

It is a Selco Black Beaver. I looked under the sweat and it had a Tonak production tag. I don't have a picture of it just yet, as I'm cleaning the hat and wanted to work the sweat out a bit, so I can't get to the tag. The pictures aren't too good, but the felt is unbelievable.

So you're the one that got that. That's a cool hat, I'm thinking maybe for a Hassidic gentleman.

Hato - Not after I get through with it.

You could grow a beard. Don't knock ringlets until you've tried them.

I'm anxious to see your transformation
