The Cavanagh hundred I had was also from Marshall Field. Is the felt stiff on that one?
Thanks Landman.I will Google "Joe T. Garcia",That would be so cool if it was his hat.Dogman, that is a very cool box. I have never seen one like that. Maybe that is a special box they only used for clear beaver like the suitcase they used for Stetson 100's. Your hat looks like an early 1950's to me.
I also noticed the name "Texas Joe" and that the hat came from Fort Worth. This a long shot but it could have belong to Joe T. Garcia, a restauranteur in Fort Worth. Most people called him Joe T. but I believe he also had a nickname of Texas Joe. The Mexican restaurant he started is still operating and is a Fort Worth landmark. Do a Google search on "Joe T. Garcia, Fort Worth".
To anybody who loves Black Westerns with tall tapering crowns and wide brims, this hat is a real beauty.
...
I'll be putting this one on the bay or trade it off...picture quality from my cell phone is poor.
Joao Encarnado, here are some pics of the box
Werner Heisenberg (or that recently popular pork pie)
Ole--I'm referring to the main character in the recently ended American television series Breaking Bad
And speaking of Oppenheimer's hat, here is a thread on the subject. We leave no stone unturned here at the Lounge!
Che - that's a beauty.
Love the Cavanaugh, David!
