Dobbs Gamebird - $1

Just picked up this little beauty from a local charity shop for the princely sum of $1. It is a Dobbs Gamebird with the additional stamp "Made expressly for the Myer store for men Adelaide"
The felt has a wonderful, thick soft feel but the stitching on the sweat has fallen apart. I think I should be able to repair it simply enough. If not, I need to find someone in Oz who can repair it for me. I have had a couple of hats repaired by the Adelaide Hatters, but they were modern Akubras, for this old one I would like to have the old sweat stitched back in rather than a new one.

Wow! Some killer acquisitions lately. Che and Alan, those two are spectacular.

ADHD Librarian - I don't think you can complain for 1$. Definitely worth having the sweat repaired.

A comment from Alan made me remember I hadn't posted the innards of this hat yet. I'm assuming ealry 50's/Late 40's?

[Chepstow]

Beautiful! Great find!

CarouselVic - I'm glad that one went to a good home. I had a low bid on it myself (UK shipping was hideous). Looks great.

[Chepstow]
