Post New Hats Here!

[Orangegrad]

Nice one Andy, the bowtie looks good, a change from the Native jewelry. (which I really like).

Thought I'd try a slightly different look with the bow tie. I got a few from the bay for next to nothing.

You have a way of looking sharp either formal or casual Andy.

Much appreciated, gents. Also enjoying what are bound to be the remaining few days of sun here in Northeast Ohio. Soon...rain.

Then...snow.

Having purchased a number of 50s Stetsons and Mallorys recently, I now really appreciate vintage fedoras much more than I did several months ago. The felt is quite different from what we find today.

Once you've tasted earlier, you will grow impatient with the fifties. At least I think so...

The homburg looks very nice on you.

I have to appreciate ANY vintage decade that fits me...
Here is my recently acquired Dobbs, probably from the 60's, maybe even 70's. Like new condition!

Beauty of a Dobbs! Keep that brim up!

Nice 'burgs too guys

Recent purchase of - wait for it - an Ermatinger's Stratoliner! It was a BIN at a good price. Needs some TLC & is the wrong size, but I think it's pretty darn cool. And yes, the ribbon is a goldenrod sort of color.

"Faint hat never won fair lady."

Fantastic find, John G. Congrats!

HR-- okay, it's a spectacular hat... but I LOVE this pic! Who the heck is that behind you?

[ManofKent]

Charlie & John G - nice finds

[bowlerman]

Here are some better pics, more detail. I really enjoy the ultra thing brim binding. It reminds me, if I remember correctly, of the binding on modern Mayser or Huckel homburgs, which have always attracted my eye.

Great new hats guys, all looking good. I guess that was not the last one! haha

[CONELRAD]

Picked this up at an antique store while I was in Dallas today, a grey 1950s Dobbs 15 with Cavanagh edge.

It has moderate moth damage, but otherwise looks virtually unworn and fits like a glove, plus I didn't have a hat in these colors, or a wide-brimmed Cavanagh edge.

I imagine it sat in a closet most of the time attracting moths, but not being worn.

[bowlerman]

Very attractive colors, Colonel.

Nice ribbon & felt combination Connor. If the mothing isn't that deep you might be able to pounce the worst of it out.

Bowler or Homburg, the world may never know.....

[hatsRme]

Ofcourse...., Sweet COKE hat, maybe? A Beaut!

CONELRAD you must have been born with a horseshoe around your neck... WHAT a FIND!

Jeff your Resistol is fabulous, man! And WHO IS that character in my photo? As Jimmy Durante used to say, "Everybody wants ta get inta the act!"

That's because we are brothers of different mothers, Manfred!
