Went to the Resistol Outlet today and got a Stetson Brewster.
And while I was there, David, the manager decided he needed a straw fedora too:

OK, so I finally got a chance to snap a few pics of my new Vintage Dobbs 1930-1946 (Depression era), that I picked up from our pal Mr. Matt Deckard (thanks again!) The color is what I would call a stone grey, it is very much like a soft Borsalino from the day (very soft to the touch)
Dimensions: Open Crown Height 5 3/4"; Brim width 2 5/8" the sweatband shows its age.

Thanks to my FL/ BB Padrino, for his great tip on this beauty. My latest acquisition, its a (whippet-like) Vintage ADAM in a beautiful light Grey: it's c.1950s labeled Executive quality, with a Aqua Shed water treatment.

Manfred, Two beautiful hats. I'm not a big homburg fan, but you new one looks fantastic.

Javier, The vintage Dobbs is great. That's one that I love to get my hands on. The Adam Executive also looks good. The hollywood brim really sets it off.

I think the straw brewster is more appealing than the felt version of the hat!

Have to also comment on those nice looking vintage glasses you have on, too!

Thanks guys, It feels pretty good to find some quality hats. amazing how much one learns from this site, it has improved the hat searching skills.

I was thinking the very same thing. Before I was able to learn about hats and everything else you will learn from reading about hats and the quality of them here, a good hat from a not so good hat, I had no idea at all what hats were worth buying and how hats can be cleaned, shaped, etc. I am still learning as time passes.

Another amazing factor, look how many really great looking hats people are able to find! I would not have ever guessed there are so many beautiful vintage hats floating around for us to find and own!

Crazy, I was thinking the very same thing! Who would have ever known the nice vintage hats still floating around. And to think I started off with a LiViTY Organic Raffia Straw Stingy fedora I purchased for $40 bucks at our local Wegmans super market,... 3 years later I have walls full of vintage & new hats, of many brim sizes and fine colors.

A new ePrey Beaver brand 10X arrived yesterday. Has been brushed, but it needs a cleaning; the dark chocolate color is good and the 7 3/8 XLong Oval does me well too. Very nice hand to the 10X felt.
