You may want to check some of the Stetson threads and see if the names cross over to the US quality labels from the same time period. I have late 50s Stetson - Mayser 3X Beaver Quality Homburg and that same label was used by Stetson USA.

That means a lot coming from you two. Both of you are "hat-heroes" of mine!

I can't believe how soft this felt is. I've got a vintage one coming in in a day or two and if it's softer than this I'll be stunned!

1920s-30s Stetson Nutria Fur western

Will post some real pictures once I get this home and brush it up a bit. Condition is very good, a small stain on the beige ribbon and some wear to the top edge of the brim binding in the front of the hat. Remarkable felt... feels like a fur hat. Very soft, the brim is completely flexible. Fits like a 7... haven't looked behind the sweatband yet. More to follow.

Dark Grey. Interesting color, eh? . . .

It's fantastic. Is it really that blue, or is it the light? Bencraft's Borso Alessandria prices can't be beat, apparently, but the colors are unusual. Their taupe, it seems from posts here, is sort of a gray-green, and their dark grey a blue.

It really is that blue. I tried to catch the right amount of light with my lousy MacBook camera and the color actually came out pretty accurately. It is indeed a strange color and I am fascinated with it. This is one tall crown but I love it!

My new Borsalino Torino just came in. Awesome early Christmas gift!!! I took my first attempt at re-bashing a hat because the bash was a nightmare. I attempted a teardrop and I think it is serviceable. Let me know what you think of the hat. I am super excited about it!

My new vintage Borsalino Alessandria courtesy of Rodkins! It exceeds my expectations. This hat is pristine.
Also, I am wearing the new Alfani jacket that my wife just bought me!

Where's my Hat... ? in Upstate NY!
New Catch of the Bay: My Grey, Kevin McAndrew Hat Maker By Appointment Furmans Jackson-Battlecreek The felt is super soft to the touch (just like my Borso); The hat handles, very, very soft - may need a little stiffener (debating it) as it does not hold a “shape”.

It’s has a 2 inch Brim, 4 Inch Bashed Crown, 1 7/8 Black Ribbon work with a Cool Bow!
