To Spanish-speaking people the vowels are important, as they distinguish words. To English-speaking people the consonants are most important. I noticed this on the part of my Salvadoran wife, who can't pronounce consonants for the life of her, particularly when at the end of words. It's a real struggle. But English-speakers are lazy pronouncing the vowels of foreign words, and their own words too.

Another Dobbs Straw

Picked this up last week. I have another one just like it (71/4 LO) but in light blue instead of gray. It looks like there's a bit of yellow on the crown, but it's just the lighting thru the window. There aren't any discolorations that I can discern.

Isn't that unusual, to have BOTH a bound brim AND some ornate stitching on the brim? Very nice, and it would fit me quite well if you decide to sell it.

That's not old! That's just a year before before I was born. You take 1950, 1951 for instance. Now that's old.
