Thanks bowlerman. It's a Stevens DeLuxe. I am anxious for this hot, humid weather to dissipate so that I can wear it comfortably. And fall is my favorite time of year anyway--

Akubra Stylemaster
Taking a vacation day. The UPS truck just dropped off a package from David Morgan. And it's for me.
I really like the acorn color. In most of the photos I'd seen the color looked lighter. I like this color just fine.
I'm right in-between a 56 and a 57 by the David Morgan chart, and the folks there suggested going with the 57. I put the pads along the sides, and the fit is quite comfortable. I'm thinking the 56 might just have been too small, especially if this shrinks at all.
I may ask my daughter to take a few more pics later today, and I'll post in the Akubra Overload thread. I'm liking my Akubra so far.

Distressed Towncraft
Got this beat up medium hair 3x beaver Towncraft off ebay for $10 a couple months ago. No lining, dirty as heck and a torn up black ribbon. After a lot of steam and brushing and some ribbon from Etsy this is what I ended up with.
The sweat is seriously distressed but intact.
The best thing about this hat is all the white hairs. My wife says it reminds her of me.
The ribbon work is my own. It's simplistic, but I'm getting better at it.
Sorry for the poor lighting. It's cloudy today.

The only issue I have now is that it's August in Cleveland - just a tad hot to wear a felt hat. Then again, I really do want to shrink the sweat band just a bit, so maybe I should wear it for a day or two even in the heat.
Not sure which Akubra will be next.
