Was a mystery as to size and condition. Condition excellent. Happy Homburg with big smile flanging.

Nice heavy Knox Box:

I find something about a contrasting brim ribbon on a Homburg compelling. This is a great example of the play of two grosgrain colors with the felt... one subtle in contrast, the other strong. Definitely not for the color blind. Beautiful hat!

Man...I haven't purchased a new hat in about a month and a half.........you guys are killing me :).

Now, now - take 'er easy there, Pilgrim... The last time I bought a hat (a gray, well - Pilgrim...) was in late October - and I immediately passed it on to a friend as it turned out to be too large. And the last hat I purchased (and kept!) before that one was back in May (the tan colored Penney's Marathon)...

Yeah, but you've got a sizeable roster of great hats to keep things interesting. I have less hats than I have fingers on one hand, and I don't count the thumb as a finger. :) Throw in the fact that I'm relatively new to hat-wearing and am still developing my tastes by experimentation, and you've got "impatient soup"! :D

Open weave Cuenca Brisa. Really light and well-ventilated. Pencilled as a 6-7/8, but fits my head like a conformer without a sweatband. Very clean, should make a nice 7 or 7-1/8 with a band and some flanging adjustment.

Nice Caxton, Hatophile. I have a tan one with a maroon ribbon that I finally cleaned up and is now in my rotation. It's my only Caxton, but I'm impressed by its build quality. I'll have to take some pictures of it, because it has an interestingly bound brim . . .

Granted. :D But then I've laid off about half of my collection with a few more still up for sale, the reason being that my experimantation phase is over and I know what suits me best. When I eventually recovered from my initial feeding frenzy I found myself with a lot of hats on my hands I simply didn't want to wear anymore...so off they went! I'm still looking for hats but I'm determined to bid only if the hat in question is exactly what I'm looking for. See, I've never been much of a collector just for the sake of it...

Hmmm...Is this a dusty dirty hat, or fine antiquing? The smoothest pounced felt I've ever encountered. Clean it or? Currently Garlands top of the line $2000.00 hat, although this one doesn't have the jewel encrusted hat belt. 3" brim-must be a customized hat.

with the new/antique Navajo silver band:

Great hat! That's patina, not dirt. The silver band seems to have a similiar affect as the optigrab.

I'd like to see it when you get a chance. This seems like a great hat, I've seen them on Ebay but never bid and won one before. It has a nice Cav type edge.

Looks like very nice felt and the bomb with that silver band. I just opened up my newly arrived 7X clear beaver western which is also a deliciously smooth felt. Will take some pictures in a bit.

Size 59cm with very nice + unique gun metal gray Velour. This one was made in the GDR probably early 1960s.
