Your pics are crystal clear do you use a special camera or is it the program you use?
CC

Not too special..Panasonic Lumix. I'm just trashing the out of focus ones until I get acceptable results. I will tweak color and exposure a bit before posting as well but its a default JPEG.

So today one of my grail hats turned up, although actually it's two in one, being my first Open Road and a 7x CB. Although it's a 7 1/8, it required very little to jack it up to my 7 1/4LO head. Very little worn, a very small moth divot an a couple of tiny stains.

I also had to change the crease as the top of my head is too high for it otherwise. I now see why everyone raves about this felt, smooth soft and pliable, I din't even have to steam it to change the crease, although it's still one of the stiffer felts I have.

Great find, Billy and it looks really good on ya. I think the crease works just fine.

Turns out to be an Ultra-lite with thin edge binding. Felt is very much like a typical Borsalino "Alessandria".

My word RLK. I LOVE that Bantam. That crown is outstanding, and for some reason it makes that 2 1/4 inch brim look much shorter. Kinda of like James Cagney's hat. I think Cagney used a 2 1/8 or 2 inch brim, I could be wrong on that though. AWESOME HAT!!:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

That is a very nice hat, indeed. Masculine, yet lightweight. The lighter weight the hat, the more I like it. Congratulations!

P.S. Great condition too! I don't do vintage, but that is one I would wear.

Thanks very much DRB!! I love this hat and how light it really is. I dont usually wear felt hats in the summer, but I can't wait until spring/summer to wear this one. I might have a thicker ribbon put on, but Im still trying to decide that.

That's a good price,Did you have to clean the Feathered band?if so how did you do it Cleaning materials,Steam,Etc I have some older cowboy hats from that Era I think they are great,I am just learning about cleaning, care Etc.
BTW the hat looks good on you,What kind of hat are you wearing in the old pic you posted? It looks like it felt and a dark color do you still have it?
CC

I have not cleaned it, it does not seem to need it. the band is loose on the hat and I have to figure out how to secure it again.
All the hat are Resistols. I was a big Risistol man back in the 70's and 80's. I don't know it they were owned by Stetson then or not. I wear my hats hard and they have not lasted these 30 plus years but they did make into the late 90's.
